Bretton Woods by Homebuilder DeNova Homes is Davis’s new, 55+ active-adult neighborhood on the city’s west side. Formerly known as the West Davis Active Adult Community, it’s designed around mid-sized single-story homes, social connections, and extensive greenway trails.
Initially approved by Davis voters (Measure L, 2018) as the West Davis Active Adult Community, the project was renamed Bretton Woods and conceived to “set the gold standard” for aging in place, with most homes age-targeted to 55+ buyers while still reserving a minority share for younger households to maintain community diversity. Approximately 80% of total units are intended for residents 55 and older; 20% are not age-restricted.
- This community has 345 homes across multiple product types, plus 150 affordable senior apartments, and a 3-acre Activity & Wellness Center (clubhouse, health/fitness, restaurant, and space for medical/office uses).
- It also includes 51 custom-builder lots for small builders or owner-builders.
- There will be 2.6 miles of walking trails, including a 1-mile art and poetry trail dotted with sculptures, seating, and native landscaping.
- Homes are oriented toward shared greenway paths rather than streets, encouraging encounters and social interactions.
